Research and Planning - Relevance of Digipacks and Adverts

Our world as we know it is constantly taking a digital shift. From records to tapes to CDs to now the digital download technology and music is constantly changing and with this change we are saying goodbye to the relevance of printed album covers. Less people buy albums then ever, most people turn to the digital download. This maybe eco friendly (less plastic and paper used) but it means less room for artists to produce a product you can actually hold. Many new artists cannot afford to produce a printed album so they are turning to iTunes because this means they can release their album with out a physical copy at a cheaper cost. However I do believe it is very important to have a good digital cover for an artists album because it is the imagery at the end of the day that grabs peoples/customers attention.
